Paste addresses and see which ones have a misspelled domain, with the likely correction next to each. Everything runs in your browser, so the list never leaves your computer.
A signup with jane@gmial.com is a real person you can no longer reach. The message bounces, the bounce counts against your sender reputation, and the person assumes you never wrote back. Catching the typo while they are still on the form keeps the contact.
It compares each domain with popular mailbox providers and flags near misses: swapped letters (gmial.com), missing or doubled letters (yaho.com, gmaill.com), mistyped endings (hotmail.con, gmail.co) and a missing dot (gmailcom).
It is deliberately conservative. Country domains such as hotmail.es and yahoo.de are real, and short domains are only one keystroke from many other real domains, so neither is ever corrected. A wrong suggestion shown to a real person is worse than a missed typo.
Typos in the part before the @, and typos in company domains. jane.doe@acme.com and jane.deo@acme.com both look plausible, and only the mail server knows which mailbox exists. That is what verification is for.
The same typo detection runs in the VeriDock API, which returns a suggestion field with the corrected address. Show it as "Did you mean…?" on your signup form and most typos fix themselves. The React integration guide shows how.
